Breast Cancer Awareness??

Do you think that this mouse pad would make your husband more aware of breast cancer and how to tell if his spouse had it?

It would definitely cause them to think about something more often...I'm just not sure what.

It reads: "frequent massaging breasts enables you detect breast cancer before it strikes"

Star Jones Is a LIAR!!

Back when Star Jones 'lost' all of her weight she INSISTED that it was because she ate properly and exercised regularly.

At that time Rosie O'Donnell called her out and said that a weight loss that dramatic, that quick could only occur after surgery and was killed in the media for being catty.

Today a different tune is being sung and I think Star owes Rosie and apology!

She stated on air MANY times that she did not under go surgery to lose weight and even wrote a book about it as well...

Now, in the September issue of Glamour, she's admitting that, yes, she had gastric bypass surgery – despite previously only admitting to having undegone a "medical intervention."

Why the delay in speaking up? "First, I didn't know if the surgery would work," she writes in the first-person essay. "I had spent my entire adult life telling everyone that I was fine with the way I looked. I never thought I'd have to explain it.

"But the complete truth is, I was scared of what people might think of me."

Jones Reynolds, 45, begins her Glamour essay on Aug. 19, 2003, the day of her surgery, and she writes, "I was so angry: How had I allowed myself to get to 307 pounds?"

Tracking her weight gain over the years – peaking after she rapidly gained about 75 lbs. following her 40th birthday – Jones Reynolds describes feeling lonely and using food as a tool to fill the void. "Whenever I felt lonely, a Double Whopper with cheese became my friend. If I felt sad, six strips of bacon made me feel better."

"Even though I claimed to be just fine with my weight, I saw how other women [colleagues] were treated like the girlfriend, while I was treated like the good friend, she writes about her first job with NBC News in 1991. "To compensate for my insecurities, I spoke louder and ate more."

After a close friend intervened, Jones Reynolds says she consulted doctors and went in for a successful gastric bypass operation in 2003.

After undergoing her surgery, the Court TV host said she didn't expect so much public scrutiny. So, she says, she sidestepped reports that she had undergone the treatment despite rapidly losing upwards of 160 lbs. over three years.

Star Jones: I Had Gastric Bypass Surgery| Star Jones
Several life changes led to Jones Reynolds's decision to come forward, she says. The support of her husband, Al Reynolds, was a contributing factor. And therapy led her to feeling more accepting of her body.

"The toughest part of the journey has been forgiving myself for not having the self-control I know I should have had, or admitting I needed help," she writes about her counseling. Reader letters while she was still on The View also contributed to her decision.

"Every day I am learning to let go of my insecurities and acknowledge that I don't have all the answers, which is okay," she writes. Though she still struggles with self-image, she writes that being healthy is what counts. "I'm not saying that in order to be happy, women need to be a certain size, but I am saying that we should all strive to be healthy."
I guess we will see what Rosie has to say later... Could this be a way for her to create some press around herself so that he TV show will do better??? I wonder.....

No Naughty Licence Plates In the UK

Th UK has cracked down on sneaky naughty licence plates and have stepped in to ban a list of naughty number-plates before the new 57 registrations arrive.

They were forced to act to stop cheeky drivers using the number combination to "spell out" offensive or controversial words.

Officials feared the figures 5 and 7 - on new plates from September - may be used to represent letters S and T or S and Y, reports The Sun.

That could have seen cars on the streets with registrations TE57 CLE (Testicle), EC57 ASY (Ecstasy), BA57 ARD (Bastard), MY57 ASH (My Stash), H057 AGE (hostage) and HE57 ABS (stabs).

Also banned is EA57 GAL (Easy Gal).

A DVLA spokesman said the plates were blocked "to avoid causing "general offence or embarrassment".

But a spokesman for the Association of British Drivers said: "The DVLA should be setting their priorities on more worthwhile issues - like reviewing safety."

Who has a licence plate with easy gal on it?? Why don't you tattoo it on your lower back while your at it???

Dear Britney,

Now that you are a mom maybe you should try to tone down the trashy nature of your life.

Pole dancing in your videos is something that would have been accepted when you were 20 and single, NOT now that you have 2 young children who are looking for a role model.

Please spend some time with your children and stop being such a whack job.

The world DOES NOT revolve around you, smarten up and start to be responsible!!

Set up some playdates for your kids and keep your personal life private.

You have so much going for you stop throwing everything away.

The world is WAITING for you to turn your life around and return to being the pop princess that everyone fell in love with.

It never too late to become a good person.

Thank you for your time,

One TOUGH Dog

Someone had better give this poor guy some extra love when he gets better...

Vets in the UK believe that he was shot twice at close range with a crossbow.

Lovable Beau was handed in to vets in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, by police on Wednesday night. She was found by a member of the public at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in Wakefield, with the devastating injuries.

She was given urgent pain relief when she was handed to shocked staff at the animal hospital.

And she underwent the drastic surgery last week to remove the distinctive bolts.

He added: "In all my years as a vet I have never seen anything like this. It's disgusting. It's one of the most extreme cases of cruelty I have ever encountered. It is easy to tell when dogs are in a horrific amount of pain since they fail to eat and have a high heart rate."

Here he is after his surgery:

The Japanese Love Their TOYS

The Japanese love technology so much that now even sex toys are on the cutting edge.

The “gPod”, a phallic-shaped vibrator, is designed to respond automatically to sounds picked up by an accompanying handset, which can plug into anything from a telephone to a music player to a television.

The gPod, referred to as an "iVibrator," takes its name and description from Apple's wildly popular iPod. Apple, however, has no affiliation with the product.

The gPod, which retails for $243, was one of a number of toys that went on public view this week at Japan's first-ever sex toy expo in suburban Tokyo.

Just when you thought that it couldn't get any better...

“You can use it in many ways, for example hooking it up to your mobile phone,” said Ichiro Kameda, the machine's inventor. “One of the ideas is that you can use it here in Tokyo when your boyfriend in New York is talking to you on the phone.”

As you can imagine, Apple is not impressed. They have sent the company a letter requesting that they stop using the gPod trademark. The Japanese creator has laughed off Apple's threats, saying that they will fight if Apple decides to sue.

What Does 200 Million Dollars CASH Look Like??

The US government called the windfall "the largest single drug cash seizure the world has ever seen."

It was all found stashed behind false walls and in cupboards of a luxurious Mexico City mansion owned by a Chinese pharmaceutical tycoon accused of making a fortune by peddling massive quantities of a chemical used to make the street drug crystal methamphetamine.

Police also seized six Mercedes Benz cars in the March raid on the Mediterranean-style house, but businessman Zhenli Ye Gon managed to escape and fled across the border into the United States.

Drug agents who arrested Ye Gon, 44, at a restaurant in the Washington DC suburb of Maryland on Monday night suspect the businessman had already gambled away more than 125 million of his ill-gotten gains on the blackjack tables in Las Vegas.

His company, Unimed Pharm Chem de Mexico, has been charged with illegally importing pseudoephedrine, a cold medicine ingredient.

According to court documents, the massive amount of the chemical shipped overseas was enough to produce crystal meth with a street value of more than 750 million.

"With the arrest of Zhenli Ye Gon, we've apprehended not only the man behind the money, but the man behind the meth," said US Drug Enforcement Agency boss Karen Tandy.

"He may never have touched the drugs, but he made it all possible, facilitating the massive meth trade by brokering chemicals to kingpins," she added.

Ye Gon, who claims he has been framed by corrupt Mexican politicians, was ordered jailed without bail when he appeared in US District Court in Washington on Tuesday.

His lawyers claimed that Ye Gon was merely safeguarding 160 million of the cash that was raised as a 'slush fund' to fight the Mexican presidential election.

Well at least we know that this bust may put a bit of a bite in the Meth market temporarily...Who keeps $200 Million dollars in cash at their house? Buy a house or a yacht or something.

The Evolution Of A Baby Panda

Dark Roasted Blend has some amazing photos of a baby panda growing from birth to about 3 months old.

The photos were taken at China's Wolong Reserve.

A record 30 surviving giant pandas were born at breeding centers and zoos around the world in 2006. Last year, cubs born at the National Zoo and at the San Diego Zoo helped set the previous record of 25 surviving panda cubs. In 2004, only nine cubs survived.

At two breeding centers and a zoo in China, artificially inseminated pandas gave birth to 31 cubs, of which 27 survived. A cub born at Zoo Atlanta and the twins born in Japan bring the total to 30.

Natural reproduction is rare among pandas in captivity. Efforts to breed pandas by artificial insemination date back to the 1960s. A major breakthrough occurred in 1980, when scientists mastered the freezing of panda sperm in liquid hydrogen, which preserves it until females are able to become pregnant, just two or three days a year. Other advances include improved artificial insemination techniques and increased knowledge of pandas, in particular their nutrition needs, hormone patterns, genes, and behavior.

Thanks to artificial insemination, more than 90 pandas have been born and survived at the Wolong Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center since 1983.

The newborn panda weighs only 100 grams at birth (the fully grown animal weighs up to 160 kilos) and remains without black/white coloration for the whole first month of its life.

These photos are not all the same baby, but a collaboration of different Pandas growing and getting stronger.

Don't Mess With This Circus Elephant

This elephant has been kicked around long enough...

An angry circus elephant in eastern Thailand grabbed a man who had provoked him and then stomped on him until he was fatally injured, police said Saturday.

Surat Kaenthip, a 30-year-old air conditioner repairman, had hit the six-year-old elephant while he was resting in an open field Friday in Rayong province, 90 miles east of Bangkok, said police Lt. Col. Thanit Saeniwong na Ayuddhaya.

"The elephant then grabbed the man's body with his trunk and hurled him on to the ground before stomping on his body," he said.

Rescuers were deterred from helping Surat because the elephant ran toward them in a threatening manner, Thanit said. They eventually succeeded in taking Surat away but he later died in hospital from a cracked skull.

Onlookers then managed to temporally placate the elephant by feeding him bunches of bananas, but he turned angry again, and dented a pickup truck parked nearby before his trainer — who had been away — returned and managed to calm him down, Thanit said.

The sad part is that this poor elephant is probably sick of being couped up and made to do things that he doesn't want to do!

One Laptop Per Child Program In Nigeria Not Acheiving The Desire Effect

Nigerian schoolchildren who received laptops from a U.S. aid organization have used them to explore pornographic sites on the Internet, the official News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported Thursday.

NAN said its reporter had seen pornographic images stored on several of the children's laptops.

"Efforts to promote learning with laptops in a primary school in Abuja have gone awry as the pupils freely browse adult sites with explicit sexual materials," NAN said.

A representative of the One Laptop Per Child aid group was quoted as saying that the computers, part of a pilot scheme, would now be fitted with filters.

How freakin funny is this. It just goes to show you that Porn is universal. It doesn't matter what country you are from or your socioeconomic status, boys like to see naked women.

Naomi Campbell's Dunkin Donuts Commercial

I am not that fond of Naomi Campbell. I think that she is a spoiled, pampered wench that thinks that us 'commoners' owe her something.

She recently did a Dunkin Donuts commercial that makes fun of her bad temper, which I think is cute. Naomi plays herself in the ad, which I don't think is a stretch. She seems to play the villain quite easily.

Victoria Beckham's Lumpy Legs

Please tell me this photo is photoshopped... actually, JUST JARED posted an update at the end of the story claiming:

These pictures have not be doctored or Photoshopped in any way, shape or form. Even UK’s The Daily Mail is reporting the same story with pictures from a different angle as well.

Victoria Beckham was seen heading up the stairs of a Beverly Hills Mansion when the camera caught this cavernous void in her inner left thigh.

I have NO idea what would cause this hole in her leg. Ewwww

Father and Son Discover $2 Million Viking Treasure

I always laugh at those people you see with the ground metal detectors...guess who laughing now?

David and Andrew Whelan had ploughed their field many times, but the best it had yielded so far was a few rusty old buttons until they decided to give it one more go.

That's when a signal led them to a single coin, enough in itself for a satisfactory day's hunting. But the Whelans kept on digging and unveiled a glittering haul of gold and silver Viking treasure.

It has been hailed as the most significant find of its kind in England for more than 150 years.

As well as shedding light on the way the Vikings lived more than 1,000 years ago, it is conservatively estimated to be worth around £750,000.

The Whelans are expected to keep half the value of the treasure, with the other half going to the North Yorkshire farmer in whose field it was found.

"It was a last resort really," said David Whelan, 60. "We have been in that field several times and have found nothing more than a few pieces of metal and 90 buttons.

"We were sweeping and then I got a signal. I took a couple of shovels of soil and there was a stronger signal.

"I just kept digging. A ball of earth rolled out of the side of the hole and I could see a coin stuck in it."

Then they dug the hole out to discover the rest of the treasure.

Unveiled at the British Museum, the 'Harrogate hoard' includes a decorated gilt and silver cup, 617 silver coins, a solid gold arm ring, brooch pins and various lumps of unworked silver.

Experts said the five-inch cup - which is decorated with animal motifs - was made in northern France in the 9th Century and was probably used in church services.

The coins date from the 10th Century and come from all over Anglo-Saxon England as well as from parts of Asia.

The necklaces, one of which is made of solid gold, are evidence that the hoard belonged to a Viking noble.

Barry Ager, curator of European objects at the British Museum, said: "It is an extremely exciting find, not just because it is the biggest and best for 150 years. The fact that the items come from all over the world shows the huge extent of the Vikings' commercial links."

Mr Ager said the haul would have either been amassed through trade or may have been looted.

He said it is likely that its owner would have buried it for safekeeping in 927 when the Anglo-Saxons under King Athelstan drove the Vikings out of northern England.

You don't usually hear finds like this in a field. Usually a haul like this is found in the ocean.

Dear Kirsten (pronounced Kearsten),

I know that this fame thing has never been your thing, but you do get photographed often so maybe you can put on a bra for your next outing.

Your au natural look is borderline street lady-ish, so cover the twins up for your next outing. No one wants to see your milk truck.

Hope the rest of your evening went well and that you were able to recover from your hangover with minimal visits worshipping the porcelain god.

Have a great day,

Liza Needs A New Stylist

Dear Liza,

I have enjoyed your music for many years and I know that you are a legend on Broadway, but please tell me what possessed you to wear sheer pants to the Hairspray Premiere?

The 90's 'flared look' was retired years ago and your attempt to resurrect it was unsuccessful.

Next time try a nice pantsuit of mid length dress. You still have great legs...show them off!!

This is all just a suggestion,

Have a great day

Sisley's Irresponsible Ad Campaign

The world is a buzz about Sisley, The Italian Fashion House's, new ad campaign that features a pair of models 'snorting' the straps of a white dress like it is a line of coke.

A white 'powdery' substance sits off to the side with a credit card underneath it, which also adds to the inappropriate nature of the campaign.

Here's my take..It is irresponsible of this company to portray that doing hard drugs like coke is so common that it could go up on a billboard.

I don't want to see a pair of anorexic girls with straws in their hands looking zoned out in my fashion mag.

It is wrong for this company to glamorize such an addictive, life destroying habit.

$600lb Shitty Coffee

Coffee connoisseurs are flocking to the newest 'must have' beverage.

Coffee made from sweet red coffee cherries is 'processed' in a way that smooths off the harsh edges creating a product that has quite the exotic cachet.

The coffee cherries are plucked by the sharp claws and fangs of wild civets, catlike beasts with bug eyes and weaselly noses that love their coffee fresh. The civet eat the fruit off the beans and then swallow the hard innards.

In the animals' stomachs, enzymes in the gastric juices massage the beans, smoothing off the harsh edges that make coffee bitter and produce caffeine jitters. Humans then separate the greenish-brown beans from the rest of the dung, and once a thin outer layer is removed, they are ready for roasting. The result is a delicacy with a markup so steep it would make a drug dealer weep.

It's called kopi luwak, from the Indonesian words for coffee and civet, and by the time it reaches the shelves of swish foreign food emporiums, devotees fork out as much as $600 for a pound — if they can even find that much. The British royal family is said to enjoy sipping it. A single cup can sell for $30 at a five-star hotel in Hong Kong.

As with everything, popular items that are wanted by all will attract a market for counterfeiting. You there is knockoff coffee....

Canadian food scientist Massimo Marcone was in Indonesia's Sumatran rain forest, where he collected about 10 pounds of civet droppings laced with coffee beans. He now uses it as "the gold standard" to rate other kopi luwaks in his lab at the University of Guelph in Ontario.

Like a forensic scientist reading a bullet's markings, Marcone stares at kopi luwak under an electron microscope, searching for striations that tell him that a civet excreted it. His studies found that kopi luwak drinkers need to be careful to avoid being duped.

"About 42% of all the kopi luwaks that are presently on sale are either adulterated or complete fakes, unfortunately," he said.

Why is it so expensive?

A pound of their droppings yields less than 5 ounces of beans. Roasting reduces the quantity by an additional 20%. With just 500 to 1,000 pounds of the real thing coming on the global market each year, demand quickly drives up the price.

Would you drink this coffee knowing how it is produced?

Do we have to think out of the box to get more out of life or is this while idea just sick?
